Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension)

4. Neurally mediated hypotension
(Low blood pressure due to damage to the nervous system) - This type of low blood pressure also called Shy-Drager syndrome. This rare disorder causes progressive damage to the nervous system which regulates involuntary activity such as blood pressure, heart rate, breath and digestion. It is related to hypertension while lying down.

Causes of Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension)

1. Lack of blood - Sometimes the lack of blood in the body causes low blood pressure. Due to a major injury or internal bleeding, there is a sudden loss of blood in the body, resulting in low blood pressure.
